Goals and Organization: Printables

Getting organized can be tough!

If you’ve struggled with setting goals and reaching them you might need a fresh approach. Whether your goal is scrapbooking, health, relationship or finance related this approach to setting goals is reliable and will put you on the path to success!

Scrapbooking supplies come in handy when planning goals and working to achieve them. See this post with 5 ways to use your scrappy supplies for goal setting.

goal planning sheets image

When it comes to setting goals it’s good to have tools that help you stay organized and keep on track.

When I searched for simple, easy to follow goal planning sheets I couldn’t find anything I liked. Everything had tons of colour and embellishment. I prefer to save my printer ink for printing photos, so I created these simple, black and white planning sheets.

Want prettier pages? Add a strip of washi tape to the top and bottom of the papers. It’s a great way to use some of the washi tape you’ve been hoarding, save your printer inks, plus you’ll get to decide what colours YOU like best!

Here’s the FREE Goal Setting and Organization pages you can download now.

Plan of Action

To achieve a big goal break it down into smaller tasks that are easy to accomplish. Each task should take a short amount of time to complete. (30 min. or less) Use this sheet to list each task you’ll need to complete to reach your goal.

Goal Tracking Chart

Yes, it’s a star chart for adults! Every day you take a small step, or complete one task towards your goal give yourself a star! (You can use stickers or stamps, just make it fun and easy!)

To Do List

When you are working towards a big goal it becomes your Priority Goal. Pick one task from your Plan of Action and add it to your daily to-do list. Do this first, if possible! Then you can fill out any other items on your to-do list. NOTE: This page is designed to be cut in half from an 8-1/2x 11 and will print TWO to-do lists on it. See the example!

GOAL: Scrapbook More!

If one of your goals this year is to scrapbook more then you should check out LOAD 215. Last year I scrapbooked over 100 pages and more than half of those were because of LOAD events! Click here to view more details. Use the code READ before January 10th to save $10! (affiliate link)

Now, go make plans, set some goals and do some scrapbooking!

Do you set resolutions, goals or intentions for the year? If so, put your scrapbooking supplies to use to help you reach those goals! In this article I’ll share 5 ways to get you on track!

Make it Monday Pink Circle

Welcome to the Make it Monday Blog Circle! You may have arrived from Artful Adventures where Kristie Sloan had a fabulous pocket to hold your New Year’s goals on her layout. At the end of this post I’ll share your next stop on the blog circle.

Setting goals and staying on track with them can be easier said than done. Put your scrapbook supplies to use and you will be extra motivated to stay on task and reach your goals.

Here’s 5 ways you can use your scrappy supplies to help you reach your goals this year!

1. Set Yourself Up for Success

Use charts and planning sheets (and make them look great) to set yourself up for success. These awesome goal setting charts are prettier and more enticing to use now that I’ve added strips of colourful washi tape from my scrapbook stash. Use this trick to add a little pizzazz to simple pages. Don’t they just make you smile? 🙂

2. Make a Pretty Planner

Planners. Using a planner can be very useful when you are working towards a goal, unfortunately many of them are boring and dare I say, ugly! Use your scrappy supplies to make them awesome! Add stamps, washi tape and other embellishments to your planner so you’ll actually WANT to use it!

See the arrow tabs pointing to important details in my planner? They are washi tape! I fold the one end over onto itself and cut the other end into a point. Now I have an easily moveable washi tape pointer! Fun and easy!

This planner is gorgeous isn’t it? Think you’d love it too? It’s from Jennifer Jones of iHeartOrganizing. You can purchase it from her Etsy shop HERE. (P.S. This is NOT an affiliate link… I just love her printables and thought you might too!)

3. Give Yourself Motivational Reminders

Motivational reminders can help to keep you on track. Leave a little note in places that will remind you to get your tasks done to reach your goal. You can use sticky notes, or washi tape. Bonus idea: Print off a gorgeous and inspiring image from Pinterest… I’m sure you have a few of those, right? 😉

4. Track Your Progress with Photos

Use photos to motivate yourself and to truly see the progress you are making towards reaching your goal. This works for all kinds of goals…  fitness, organizing and more.

(Yes, this is a REAL before photo… don’t judge!!!)

Closet Cleanup

P.S. Did you spot my Cabbage Patch? Awesome, right? 😉

5. Scrapbook Your Goals

Connect more with your goal and share why it is important to you or explain your plan to achieve it on a scrapbook layout. The more important a goal is to you the more motivated you will be to reach it.

Christmas, it’s about family!

Make it Monday Blog Circle imageChristmas is all about the people and the connections we share. Do you scrapbook those family connections?

If you are hopping along the Make it Monday Blog Circle you’ll have arrived from Messtaken Identity where Gina was making homemade bread! Mmmm! (If you missed it make sure you pop over to check it out she shared her recipe!) I’ll share your next stop at the end of this post.

Watching my 14 year old son play with his three year old cousin really made me think about the way families interact. I felt it was important to capture the special bond between cousins, no matter what the age gap between them is.

Capture Family Connections

Start your page with a goal of documenting a relationship instead of an event the way capturing the relationship between cousins became the starting point for this Christmas scrapbook layout.

cousins christmas layout image

This layout doesn’t have deep, heartfelt, emotional journaling, but it still tells about a strong family connection.

Lesson: You don’t have to dig deep into your emotional storage bank to make your journaling have strong meaning.

Try it! Use a relationship or family connection as the starting point for your next scrapbook page. You’ll see that even a small amount of journaling can tell a powerful story when documenting the connection between people.

Another useful trick:

Use humour to keep things light.

If you aren’t comfortable writing emotional journaling you can lighten the tone of your page by using a bit of humour when documenting the relationships.

Make it Monday:

Your next stop on the blog hop is to Artful Adventures where Kristie shares how to wrap odd sized gifts! (Just in time for Christmas, thanks Kristie!)

Christmas Card: Love and Joy

Make it Monday Blog Circle image‘Tis the season… for creating Christmas cards!

Welcome!

If you are hopping along the Make it Monday Blog Circle you’ll have arrived from Kristie Sloan’s where she was creating a festive holiday mini-album from envelopes! Did you miss it? Click here!

I’ll share your next stop at the end of this post.

Did you know?

Creating handmade Christmas cards became popular back in 1910-20? They were often made into unusual shapes and included details like foil and ribbon. These intricate details made them difficult to mail and they were often hand delivered.

Does this seem familiar to you? I know that every year I hand make a few extra special cards for people that really enjoy the time and detail that is added to them. When they become large and bulky I end up hand delivering my cards. It’s been 100 years, and some things never change!

Love and Joy Card

The card I’m sharing today is not thick and bulky, although I did add some depth using foam tape. If you are really concerned about the thickness of the card this could easily be omitted.

Techniques used on this card:

  • Embossing with a Big Shot
  • Stamping
  • Fussy cutting
  • Distress inking using the stamp pad directly on the project

I’ve included a complete listing of the supplies used at the end of this post.

Class: Scrapbook Christmas… in January

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, until you have to cook, clean, go to parties, shop, wrap, and don’t forget… scrapbook your precious memories! Trying to do it all is exhausting.
Why not make Christmas as stress free as possible? Scrapbook Christmas in January!
This new class will teach you how to easily record the important moments and capture the photos you need, so you can scrapbook Christmas in January, after the kids have gone back to school, the decorations have been put away, and you finally have time to relax.

My Question for YOU!

Do you make Christmas cards? How many do you make? Do you make all the cards that you mail? Leave your answer in the comments. I usually make anywhere from 40-60 cards each year, although getting them into the mail is a whole separate story! 😉
