*or maybe it’s not… scroll down for a 2020 option

It’s time to capture the magic of the Christmas parade! The Christmas parade is a special event at Christmastime. It’s a chance for the whole community to come together and have fun.

Your mission: Capture a Christmas parade or other public Christmas event.

Alternate public events you may wish to consider:

  • Town Light-Up Night
  • Christmas Caroling
  • Snow/Winter Festivals
  • Snowman Building Contest
  • Christmas Flea Markets and Craft Sales
  • Skate with Santa
  • Festival of Trees
  • Ice Sculpture Displays
  • Sleigh Rides

TIP:

Be sure to make the prompts fit into your own Christmas story. If you don’t attend a Christmas parade find an alternate activity. The goal is to record a range of decorations, activities, foods and traditions that make up your Christmas experience.

*2020… no social gatherings idea… we’ve got you covered!

*Online/TV parade… This may be the year you watch a parade, from the comfort of your home. If so, you can take a photo of you enjoying it, maybe with your special Christmas socks or slippers and a cozy drink while you watch the Santa Claus parade on TV?

A Christmas Scavenger Hunt… perhaps while you enjoy an online/TV parade you can also incorporate a scavenger hunt into the watching for a little extra fun!

(This is also perfect for Christmas light spotting if you’re exploring your neighbourhood lights!)
