Now why didn’t I think of that! Simply brilliant! Thank you for sharing this, Alice.

    • Alice. 30 May, 2014, 5:42 pm

Genius, right? I can’t take all of the credit, but I have been doing this for a long time. I know that most people would probably make the effort to get my photos to me. Honestly the camera wouldn’t even matter, I HATE losing photos!

  • Alison 31 May, 2014, 6:42 am

What a fantastic idea Alice! As my kids would say, you’re so smart!! 🙂

    • Alice. 31 May, 2014, 11:16 am

Thank you Alison! Losing a camera would be devastating to me, if I could even get my photos back that would be such a relief!

  • Kelli Panique 31 May, 2014, 9:23 am

What a useful idea! Thanks, Alice!

    • Alice. 31 May, 2014, 11:16 am

Alice, that is soooo smart 😀 I just read on Connie’s blog that you are Canadian! I didn’t know that, so am I!! I’m originally from NS and I do come from a town with a cool name, Antigonish 😉

    • Alice. 2 June, 2014, 4:01 pm

I’ve always loved the name of that town Cara! I’m out in Alberta. Thanks for popping over to say hi!

  • Libby Wiers 3 June, 2014, 7:30 am

This is such a great idea, and so simple we all wonder why we didn’t think of it. Thanks for sharing.

Every time you empty/delete your card, or put in a new one make it the first photo you take!

  • Sandy 20 May, 2015, 5:44 pm

I had my camera stolen from my desk at work. I was devastated to lose all those pictures! Although this wouldn’t have worked in that situation, I surely will use this tip in case I lose the camera. I’m sure there are some folks out there who would return it.

    • Alice. 22 May, 2015, 12:59 pm

Oh how horrible Sandy! I hope you used this as an opportunity to get a camera you really love. I would be heartbroken over the missing photos.

  • Paula 15 July, 2015, 9:09 am

what a fantastic idea, you often hear or cameras going missing I will definitely do this, and on my phone too

    • Alice. 23 March, 2016, 9:11 am

      Yay!

  • Mary Jo Heller 23 March, 2016, 7:35 am

Love this idea. Do it to all your chips! I too have lost/had a camera stolen. Twice. Cameras are “stuff.” Pictures are irreplaceable. I would add a comment to the picture above, saying these pictures are precious. Please return the chip (and I would love my camera!) It is easy to return a chip, and I think most people would. I have twice added postcards to an album instead of the actual pictures of my family.

    • Alice. 23 March, 2016, 9:11 am

That is so heartbreaking Mary Jo. Returning a chip is easy and inexpensive. I know there are many people that would be willing to pop a chip in the mail, if they only knew who to send it to!

  • Barbara Howell 1 June, 2016, 9:10 am

    what a wonderful idea!!!

  • Angela Hutson 26 October, 2016, 8:19 pm

Alice you are way toooo smart!!
OR you have to much time on your hands. In any case I’m glad.
Thanks for coming up with this idea.
I love everything you post. Keep it up.
    Have a 👻Happy Halloween.

    Great idea!

I have always had my husband’s phone number taped onto the back of my phone in case of emergency. I know I can put it in the emergency section of my phone but sometimes analogue is just better. Even if my battery is dead people know who to contact.
